There are many mini-games in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Here is the list in brief with a detailed overview and tips for each of them below:
- Drinking games
- Animal hunting
- Orlog – a dice game
How to win the drinking game in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
What’s a Viking good for when you can’t even defend yourself in a drinking contest? It’s just not good! That’s why you can show off your drinking skill to everyone under the table in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla minigames.
You can recognize drinking games by the crossed horn icons. You will be introduced to the drinking game in Fornburg, Norway. As you travel around the country later in the game, you’ll find other places where you can host your drinking mini-game. Before starting the game you can make a small bet and the winner takes everything. There are three bets to choose from: 100 money, 150 money and 200 money.
If you have a sense of rhythm, you’re in luck. The main objective (if you are using a mouse and keyboard you press the space bar) is to press the space bar or the X button on the Playstation 4 or Playstation 5. Or the A button on the XboX One or the XboX Series X at the right time.
The speed of the game will increase slowly but surely and if you make a mistake you will be sent back at the same speed as at the start of the game. Having to deal with getting drunk and drunk while pressing your space bar and trying to maintain your balance makes this one of the funniest minigames in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
If you manage to drink four cups before your opponent, you win the game. If you manage to lose, you will always win;)
Fishing for food, rations and cosmetics
Fishing is another way to kill time while you take a break from the murder, mayhem, and beheading. Fishing not only gives you time to think about everything that has happened but it will also regenerate your health when you catch a fish and once your health bar is completely full you fill your ration bag up to the point. that it is filled to the maximum. carry. Another way to use fish is to exchange them in your colony for cosmetics, runes, and materials.
To fish, you will need to have built a fishing hut in the Ravensthorpe settlement. You will then have access to the fishing line and in the case of people who use the mouse and keyboard, you can either use your quick wheel while pressing G or press N on the keyboard to pull out your fishing gear.
The Fishing Hut becomes available when you reach second rank and it costs 600 supplies and 45 raw materials to build. When you finally have the Fishing Shack talk to Arth and he will start you off by giving you a fishing line and a fishing task list.
Fishing tasks are easy but it takes time, effort and a lot of travel all over England to catch the fish. You can return the fish at any time, there is no need to wait until you have them all.
Once you take out your fishing line press the right mouse button and with your mouse you aim for the place where the fish is jumping or you can use your crow to find fish. Then you will need to start stirring and once a fish is hooked up and you hear a sploosh sound for it, that’s when the real fight begins.
You will need to crush your space bar and coil the fish using W, A, S, D to get it ashore. However, this is not as easy as it sounds. The line will turn orange / red when you start to wrap the fish. And you’ll want to be careful because the more stress you put into it, the more likely you are to break the line.
When the line snaps, you will have lost your fish. Once the fish is near Eivor, it will automatically fill your health bar OR go straight to inventory. The fish can be brought back to the fishing hut, but it can also be sold for cash.
If you want to know where specific fish are found, be sure to purchase the “Fantastic Fish and Where to Find Them” notes from the vendors as they appear. These won’t mark your map, but they’ll tell you where certain species of fish like to hide.
Select your fishing line from here (the fish icon) to equip your fishing line, then hold the left trigger to aim and the right trigger to cast. After throwing, you can release the left trigger, but keep your right trigger finger primed. The controller with vibrator and you will hear a loud lapping sound when a fish bites, and you will have to pull the trigger to hook the fish.
The list of fishing tasks mentioned earlier is actually quite extensive. You can earn new runes, cosmetics for tattoos and hairstyles, but also ingots. The Fishing Task in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is a very rewarding mini-game.
Below is a list of the fish you will need to catch to gain access to the rewards.
Once you’ve gathered all of these items, you should be able to get a substantial amount of rewards and become stronger using ingots for upgrades or runes for your weapons or looking a lot better with the new cosmetics.
Rules of Flight, Viking Rap Battle
A little history lesson here: Flyting has been around since around 1200. And it’s a contest where people trade insults and it often rhymes. The creators of the game did a terrific job adding this to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Not only is it fun, but also very educational: you will learn more about the English language! And it is also a good way to earn extra money by betting money.
There are three bets you can place for your match and the winner takes it all:
- Small bet – 100 silver coins
- Average bet – 150 silver coins
- Big Bet – 200 silver coins
Charisma is a new mechanic in Assassins Creed: Valhalla. And this is also a fairly important question. With Charisma, you can unlock additional dialogue options and thereby add new dimensions to the story, making it even more immersive. In some cases, these choices will actually be important and instead change the story.
Flyting is a mini-game which can be found by the smiley mask on your map. Just pull out the map legend and you should find the mask as shown here.
You can usually find Flyters in and around towns and villages that you come across. Your first Flyting match will take place in Alvis, in the starting area, sometimes during the Family Matters quest.
So, how do you win in Flyting?
How flyting works is simple on the surface – with every line your training partner says, you have to respond with an insult of your own – but in practice it can be a little stressful and easily messed up.
Flying seems easy, but there can be difficulties in winning a match. Your Flyting opponent will start the match and you will have to respond correctly with an insult of your choice, but the pressure of time can make this a bit stressful and easy to mess up. If you don’t respond in time, Eivor will mumble while your opponent laughs at you for not getting proper feedback.
There are rules: make sure it rhymes and make sure it matches the rhythm of the phrase you just heard. So look at your three options and you’ll need to quickly figure out which one rhymes and which matches the length of the sentence your opponent just said.
Here are a few things to consider:
- Only one of the three answers is correct, and you must win two out of three to win the game.
- You can always ask your opponent what he said.
- No one likes to fail but in the unfortunate event that you do, you can try again but losing also means you’ve wasted your money.
- If you go for a rematch, the dialogue is the same as before.
Orlog in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
Orlog is a simple game played with a set of dice and stones that represent health. In essence, players need to deal enough damage to their opponent while defending their own stones. The first person to lose ALL of their health loses the game. But not before you fight.
The game begins with a toss to see who gets to roll the dice first, then chooses which dice to play. There is a maximum you can cast and the maximum is three. After the three throws, you have access to divine favor. The resolution phase is as follows and with each die you chose in that particular order and God’s favor of course as well. If you or your opponent don’t win, the next round begins. After the third roll, the game will automatically use the dice faces that were rolled and there are no more rolls after that. So whatever you roll last on the third try will be your dice.
In our Orlog Guide we deepen the mechanics of the game as well as tips and tricks to defeat your opponent.
Orlog has proven to be so popular that it will also see a physical version sometime in 2021.
